We all know how critical it is to remove a watermark if you don’t know how to remove a watermark in photoshop. However, if you know the rules it’s easy. Here you go with the steps to follow.

In Photoshop, you can do this task in several ways. You can choose the Content-Aware Fill tool to remove the watermark. If you do it with this tool you can enjoy other features of content-aware fill as well. Here are the steps of removing a watermark using Content-aware fill.

The first task you have to do is to open the photo on your Photoshop software. Now select the area where the watermark text is. Photoshop has several tools that will help you to select the area. You can choose any one of these. Such as magic wand tool or quick selection tool, pen tool for clipping path, or lasso tool, etc. After selecting the area around the watermark text, your second step starts.

Now you have to make certain adjustments to the area you have selected. To be more precise, you have to expand the picture to include background pixels. To accomplish this part you should select modify at first. Then select expand. You can expand the selected area as you wish. Just select the number of pixels you want and press ok.

Now you have to remove the object from your image. Take the advantage of content-aware fill tool of Photoshop. Go to edit and select fill. When you select fill there will be a popped-up dialog box that has the Content-Aware option. There will be another option called Color Adaptation. Keep it unchecked. Keep the opacity 100% and set the image mode to normal. Now press ok button.

Now it’s time to deselect the selected area by pressing Ctrl + D on the keyboard. Now you will see the background color has replaced the area where the watermark text used to be. However, the outline of the watermark will be still there. In the last step, you have to remove that as well.

Well, it is easy to remove the text outline by using the Clone Stamp Tool of Photoshop. Just go to the left side of the toolbar or you can just select S. Now select and hold the “Alt” key. Now you have to take samples from the surrounding area of the watermark text. Now retouch the area by dragging the cursor over the watermark. Do as long as there are traces of the original watermark texts.

Using Clone Stamp

Removing watermarks photoshop has several ways. The first way was by using the selection tools. You can do the same job by using the clone stamp tool as well. You have to follow the below written steps.

Step 1

At first, open the photo on Photoshop you need to remove the watermark from. Now select the Clone Stamp Tool from the toolbar on the left side. Now you have to make sure the brush size and harshness of it are compatible with your retouching need.

Hover the cursor over the areas where the watermark is. Now press and hold the “Alt” key on your keyboard until the cursor becomes a target. Now select the area where you want to extract your desired pixels from around the watermark.

After taking the sample pixels release the “Alt” key. You can paint over the watermark by using the left button.

On the left side, you will find the healing brush tool. This is used for eliminating the marks and clearing the spots on the picture. Check the brush size and hardness and make it compatible with the need.

It’s time to heal the picture. Take samples from your desired area and replace the watermark with them. Then keep painting as long as all the traces of the watermark are replaced with new pixels brought from another part of the image.

The image owner put a watermark to make the image exclusive. However, it is possible to remove the watermark from an image by using photoshop. Photoshop has several tools that allow us to do so.
